During first period today Sophie and I were able to start making the rocket body tube. We had Andrew cut out four strips of the special paper that we're supposed to use. Both Sophie and I agreed on four because it'll make our rocket body much stronger and durable, so hopefully it'll help our rocket in one piece during its flight. We used a 1 and 1/4 inch pvc pipe to wrap the paper around. This size will keep the motor in perfectly because it's only slightly larger than the size of the motor body. If it ends up not fitting then we can always add tape around the motor to keep it in place. To start building, we wrapped the first piece of paper around the pvc pipe and taped it. Then, we took the next piece of paper and wrapped it the opposite way, which helps make the body even stronger. To glue the paper we just used wood glue. We continued this process with the next two pieces of paper and let them dry. Both Sophie and I decided to leave the paper to dry for a day before we start cutting off the edges. We started trying with one side, but the glue as still extremely wet so we'll let it dry for the next day.
