For my second week of endersession, I started with trying to replicate a face chart art piece created by a well known makeup artist. The overall look was more successful than I was anticipating and was extremely excited with how it turned out. My second piece was a special effect I had seen on the internet several times and wanted to try out. I attempted this makeup on another person to try to challenge myself and tried doing it somewhere else besides just a hand since that's usually where I do special effects makeup. On Wednesday I wanted to do a bruise makeup, but decided to try a different technique than I've tried in the past. By trying this alternate way, I realized I didn't like the end result as much as I've liked previous attempts. For Thursday, I wanted to try this effect I had seen many people do with fingers or the palm of the hand, but I decided I wanted to challenge myself by doing it on my wrist instead. I'm doing the fifth makeup next week since we've had some family stuff happen this Friday. Over the week, I've continued reading some of the Makeup Man by Michael Westmore, which has been extremely interesting to read about so far with his recounts of working in the film industry back in the 60's and 70's. I've watched several episodes of Face Off, which has also been extremely interesting to learn more tips about makeup. I also watched two documentaries about makeup artists in the film industry: Nightmare Factory and Fantastic Flesh.
