For my first week of endersession, I focused mostly on the creation of my makeups. On the first day I decided to try to replicate blisters on my hand. Trying to get the skin wax to shape into spheres, along with painting between the blisters created a challenge. The second day I tried to apply a special effects makeup of a bullet wound to someone other than myself. I have only ever done makeup on someone else twice so it was a lot different for my to try to work on them instead of myself, but in the end I'm proud of what I was able to do. On the third and fourth day, I attempted to try doing two beauty/glam looks. Most times, I only ever do special effects or body painting makeup, so I stepped out of my comfort zone for these two. By the second time I already started learning new techniques and was able to be more successful with it. For my last one of the week, I tried creating a larger gore piece than I've tried before. This caused challenges with trying to shade in between the scratch marks since there was residual wax from the pieces. Throughout the week I've been watching Youtube channels, like Madeyewlook, to visualize different techniques I can apply to my own makeups. I've also been watching the show Face Off, a competion between makeup artists that's judged by several of the top makeup artists in the film industry. Watching this has helped show me various things to keep in mind during my own makeups, like making sure the colors don't get muddy, being atomically correct, and to make sure all the edges blend in smoothly to the skin. I started readinf the book The Makeup Man by Michael Westmore, which talks about Michael Westmore's experience working as a makeup artist all his life.
