During the INNERnet Connection project, my group focused on creating an outlet for students to de-stress through exercise and physical activity. In the survey our team sent out to the school, we found that many students use exercise as a way to relax from the stress in their life. All four of us really related to this and based our de-stressing project around exercising in a fun way by using trampolines. For our experience week we wanted to create an area for the students or staff to come out at lunch to exercise. We did this by borrowing two miniature trampolines and two long jump ropes. Anyone was welcome to come by and use any of the objects provided. By the end of our experience week we found that we had helped many students de-stress, even if it was only a small amount. From there we were able to split into to pairs and start working on our idea for our dream installation. Both my partner, Avery, and I decided on basing our design more on the trampoline aspect of our idea. We created a scale model of our finalized idea, along with all the calculations for it, a concept board, and concept board. Below are all the different aspects we've worked on throughout this entire project.

Concept Statement
Sky Tech High Sky Tech High is a place for students to exercise and relieve stress through physical activity. Throughout the day, students are constantly sitting down with no outlet to release their energy and relieve stress. Sky Tech High provides a fun and safe way to do this. The life size version would be placed on the south field, next to the High Tech High school building. High Tech High students and staff in the HTH Village would be able to use the area throughout the day. As students and staff walk into the building, they would find a relaxing environment that uses various shades of blue. The bottom floor of the building would be a hexagonal prism. When the person walks into the main room, they will feel energized by bright shades of red accented around the room. Along the edges of the room there would be regular carpeted flooring with standard workout machines. Towards the middle of the room, the floor will be all trampolines. There will be two pyramid trampoline structures for the user to jump against, along with a net wall for the user to jump from into a foam pit. In order to get to the next floor, there would be stairs made out of trampolines for the user to jump to. While on the second floor, the user would find a variety of bold colored bounce house type activities. They would have access to bounce house obstacle courses, a bungee race and bounce house boxing arena. The colors would create the same feeling as the first floor. Lastly, in the third floor the student or staff would be able to participate in blow up hamster ball activities. The user could use the balls to bowl or participate in a safe battle like arena. Sky Tech High would create both a relaxing and exhilarating environment for the user. This would be implemented by using a combined color scheme of shades of red and blue to make the user experience these moods, along with accent colors of gray, white, and black. For now, everything is made with foam board and various colors of paint, along with thread and styrofoam. In short, the Sky Tech High scale model represents an alternative outlet for excess energy, as well as a good way to let off some stress that many students have.
Concept Board
In humanities class, each project group was able to work on a concept board to help illustrate in a more clear way all the different aspects of the actual space. Avery and I included paint samples of colors we would want to include in the real building. We also included pictures of what would be inside so the viewer could have a clearer picture of what our space would offer the users. In order to find these pictures, we created a board on Pinterest. Then we added a couple of words that we would want people to feel while they were using the facility, along with our concept statement. Overall, our concept board creates a more clear vision of what our dream installation's design would look like. Pinterest board link
